Setting
The HC-O profile is a very robust and strong expanding joint and has proved its effectiveness for over 20 years. This design was recently adapted and improved, yielding even better results than before. This joint comprises two 5 mm thick S235JRG2 grade steel, cold rolled Omega profiles. The shape and minuscule tolerance between the 2 profiles prevent the least amount of vertical movement and guarantee optimal load transfers.
The fitted pin bolts guarantee solid anchorage in the concrete when shrinking occurs due to drying of the concrete emulsion, which also causes the joint to expand and the actual widening to occur. The milled upper side ensures perfect smoothness of the 2 steel plates and lasting edge protection of the newly created floor portions.
Technical characteristics of the HC-O profile up to 200 mm in height Technical characteristics of the HC-O profile 200 mm and higher Available dimensions and implementations
* Design and production to specification for profiles with height requirements exceeding 300 mm
The HC-O profile range is also available in an electro-galvanized version and only in standard lengths of 3 metre. From 200 mm height a second row of pin anchor bolts are provided on the underside as standard. For heights from 160 mm to 200 mm, the same second row treatment is also available as an option.
In extreme conditions, expansion could be more intense than shrinkage and therefore this profile is available with 5 or 9 mm shrinkage-expansion foam in-between the edges.
